the originals season 2 spoilers
Claire Holt will be returning to "The Originals" as Rebekah in episode 8 of Season 2. CW

Who’s ready for another Mikealson family reunion? According to reports, episode 8 of “The Originals” will welcome back two familiar faces to the Season 2 plot when Rebekah (Claire Holt) and little Hope return to New Orleans.

But according to the synopsis for “The Brothers that Care Forgot,” which is set to air Monday, Nov. 24, it won’t be a trip that Auntie Beks is excited to make. Rebekah, who has spent months away living a normal life with baby Hope, will “find herself on the run when she realizes Esther (Sonja Sohn) has uncovered her whereabouts.”

When the Season 1 finale concluded, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) had given his daughter to Rebekah to keep safe.

“She’ll get a white fence. It’ll be lovely,” Rebekah said, adding levity to the situation and calming her brother’s nerves. After all, Hope was wanted dead by her very own grandmother.

“There is no one I would trust more with my daughter’s life,” Klaus responded to his sister. “Be happy.”

However, it looks as if the last part of Klaus advice has been clouded thanks to a menacing witch. Esther, who is currently using Lenore as a vessel (unbeknownst to Rebekah), is determined to see Hope dead. Not because she wants to, but because she needs to in order to pay a debt to her older, and more evil sister. Seriously, who knew there could be someone more malevolent than Esther?

A long, long time ago Esther had made a fertility deal with her sister, which we saw in a flashback. In exchange for bearing children, Esther would have to sacrifice the first born of every generation. That’s why Esther’s eldest daughter, Freya, died from “the plague.” Now Esther needs to hand Hope over or else the wicked witch of the west will be paying the Mikaelson clan a visit -- and honestly, there’s only so many family reunions we can take.

Will this be a way for Klaus, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Esther to bury that hatchet by coming together and defeating the soul-quenched witch?

Viewers will have to tune in Monday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m. EST to find out. But until then, check out the first released images of Rebekah and Hope, which you can see here.
