the originals season 3 spoilers
Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) won't exactly be howling for joy when she sees her baby daddy in Season 3 of "The Originals." CW

If fans of the hit CW series “The Originals” were crossing their paws for a hybrid rekindling in Season 3 of the supernatural drama, then boy do we have news that will leave you growling in anger.

According to reports, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) won’t exactly be seeing eye-to-eye in the upcoming installment, which is set to premiere in the fall -- and not just because they’ll be at different heights. As audiences well know, Klaus turned Hayley into a wolf in the Season 2 finale of “The Originals.” And it looks like the wolf queen will be staying in that furry form for longer than she’d like.

Entertainment Weekly dished that when “The Originals” returns with its new season, it will kick off with a four-month time jump -- not to mention, a four-legged creature. That’s right, Hayley will still be a wolf when Season 3 premieres. And apparently Klaus will have no desire to free Hayley from her beastly body. In fact, EW revealed that Klaus will even refuse to aid others who attempt to liberate Hayley from the Crescent Curse -- so we can totally understand why Hayley won’t be her baby daddy’s number one fan during the forthcoming season.

“Hayley’s not going to be able to forgive him easily for what he’s done,” Tonkin told TVLine in May. “Even if he [turned her into a wolf] for the good of his baby, I don’t think he did it in the right way. He should have let Hayley know that’s what he was doing so she could have been part of the plan. But he didn’t do that, so now, [she’s] pissed.”

Klaus reportedly turned Hayley into a wolf to prove his loyalty to his evil aunt Dahlia (Claudia Black). Once he gained the dark witch's trust, he was able to take down the woman who was so determined to kill his daughter.

Although Hayley will be sporting a fur coat for a majority of the season, executive producer Michael Narducci promised fans that Tonkin would not be written off the show. He even divulged that audiences hadn't seen the last of the mama wolf... in human form. Could that mean a cure will be found come Season 3?

“The Originals” will return with Season 3 on Thursday nights this fall.
