That's the number of nominations Martin Scorsese and Hugo received for the 84th annual Academy Awards, which were announced early Tuesday morning.

Scorsese's 3-D love letter to cinema leads this year's Oscar race with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Directing, Music (Original Score) and Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Close behind Hugo is the French darling The Artist with 10 nominations, including Best Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Supporting Actress (Berenice Bejo) and Best Picture.

Meanwhile, Glenn Close is going for magic number six. The Albert Nobbs actress is nominated for the sixth time of her career, up against Rooney Mara, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis and Michelle Williams. Close, who received her very first nomination in 1983 for The World According to Garp, has never won.
