“Outlander” episode 2 will finally move past everything the first trailers showed audiences. Pilots have to be a little predictable because they’re setting up the series, but episode 2 is when it gets exciting. That certainly seems to be the case for “Outlander” episode 2, titled "Castle Leoch," which will pick up right where episode 1 left off.

At the end of the first episode, Claire was taken to Castle Leoch. This week, she’ll meet the Laird of the castle and discover that apparently she’s a guest and not a prisoner (though she was taken there against her will). It isn’t as if Claire has anywhere else she can go in 18th century Scotland, so it looks like she’ll be sticking around.

She will befriend “the mysterious Geillis Duncan.” The woman will bond with Claire over a love of herbs. Claire will likely use them for medicinal purposes. Geillis’ intentions are a little less innocent and a little more magical.

Geillis won't help Claire's reputation in Scotland. The locals are already very suspicious of her and even think that she could be an English spy. It's picking herbs will Geillis that will really put her in danger though. Of course, Claire has medical knowledge far ahead of the 18th century, so she picks herbs that she knows will help people with injuries. When the clan at the castle discovers Claire’s knowledge of modern medicine, she quickly becomes a prisoner. Why? Because modern medicine looks like witchcraft to them.

Claire isn’t the only one with secrets. There is currently a price on Jamie’s head for murder.
