Actors playing the roles of a French Court member and Jamie’s cousin Jared have been cast for “Outlander” Season 2. Viewers will be seeing Stanley Weber and Robert Cavanah in their new roles next year, when the next season is set to air.

Weber’s most recent projects include “Sword of Vengeance” and the 2013 movie “Not Another Happy Ending.” According to EOnline, the actor will now play the role of a Le Comte St. Germain. The character has been described as a wine merchant, but more importantly a member of the French Court.

The character is said to appear in “most of the episodes that take place in Paris” and is supposedly a villain of the next season. The main plot of the next season is based on the book “Dragonfly in Amber,” written by Diana Gabaldon, and the story is mostly based in France with the lead characters Jamie and Claire travelling there.

According to the report, Executive Producer Ron Moore has revealed that Jamie and Claire will attempt to “change history” while in France and will also get to meet Bonnie Prince Charlie, who was a real historic figure. The main aim of the characters in “Outlander” Season 2 is to try and stop the doomed Jacobite rebellion before it begins and try to save the lives of the people who would be killed in the impending war.

Jamie and Claire will get to live in Paris, according to the report, and one of the characters they meet is Jamie’s cousin Jared Fraser. According to a report by AccessHollywood, Cavanah will be playing this new role. The character is described as wine merchant and a “strong Jacobite” who has a mansion in Paris.

The popular movies that Cavanah has been a part of include the 2005 movie “Sahara” and the Angelina Jolie vehicle “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.” The actor’s character will support Jamie and Claire, as they will reportedly live in Jared’s mansion and manage his wine business while he travels to the West Indies.
