Authorities have arrested a teenager for allegedly stealing a part of the car that crashed in Santa Clarita, Calif., killing Fast & Furious star, Paul Walker, and his friend, Roger Rodas, on Saturday.

Two persons were involved in the theft, which occurred when the wreckage of the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was being towed from the accident scene Saturday night, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said, adding that the second suspect was planning to surrender. According to the police, witnesses saw someone driving behind the towing vehicle that was carrying the wreckage and grabbing a part when the vehicle stopped at a stop light.

"A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed. The male drove away with the stolen vehicle part. The tow truck driver reported the theft to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station," a statement from the sheriff’s department said.

Police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jameson Witty, who was arrested from his home in the Tujunga neighborhood of Los Angeles, and was being held on a $20,000 bail. The second suspect, a 25-year-old man, was outside California and is in communication with the sheriff’s office, making arrangements to surrender himself, officials said.

Officials served a search warrant at a home in Canyon Country, located north of Los Angeles, and recovered the stolen Porsche part -- a red, T-top roof panel. The officials are planning to file criminal charges of felony grand theft and tampering with evidence against both suspects.

Paul Walker, who starred in all but one of the six Fast & Furious blockbuster franchise was killed after the Porshe he was traveling in with Rodas crashed into a light pole and burst into flames in Santa Clarita, about 27 miles north of Hollywood.
