PBS recently announced it would revisit Mister Rogers' "Neighborhood of Make-Believe" as an animated spin-off titled "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood."

The series will update the show by having characters from the original series now grown with their children. The updated version will star Daniel Tiger as the son of the original tiger character from the old program.

The premise of the "next generation" version seeks to continue with Fred Rogers' learning strategy of musical education to teach children fundamentals, much like he did as the titular host of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."

The original series ran from 1968 to 2001 with re-runs airing until around 2004. The new series is set to launch as part of PBS Kids in fall of 2012.
