Research In Motion went all out for its Playbook launch party in New York. Demonstrators stationed with Playbooks pointed to its capability with Web surfing, games and video. Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis cheerfully showed off a driving game, and touted the Playbook's ability to use HDMI video links for that business presentation on the go (the Playbook comes witha native version of PowerPoint).

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard made an appearance, posing for snapshots with RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie. He tweeted, Takin off. Had a blast RIM and blackberry y'all did an excellent Job the playbook is great. I love it. Now I need a busload of them for my teammates lol so we can all be connected.
