The lineup of Power Rangers are now assembled and ready to morph into action. "Empire" guest star Becky Gomez a.k.a. Becky G has signed on to play the Yellow Ranger in the upcoming 2017 "Power Rangers" film.

Gomez announced the news on Twitter, saying "I am a Power Ranger," with a yellow heart next to it. She also added that in a way it's destiny she's playing the Yellow Ranger.

In addition to being an actress, Gomez is also a singer, song-writer and rapper. She had her first single reach the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014 with "Shower." She showcased some of her singing skills on "Empire" Season 2 where she played Valentina and worked with Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) before Lucious (Terrence Howard) took her away by giving her a contract at Empire.

The film has now cast five Power Rangers. Ludi Lin will play the Black Ranger, RJ Cyler the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott the Pink Ranger and Dacre Montgomery the Red Ranger. This was the original core of colors on the TV show until the Green Ranger joined later on.

It's unknown if the Green Ranger will be a part of the team, but the actor who played the original Green Ranger is expected to have at least a cameo in the new movie. In an interview with ComicBook.com, actor Jason David Frank said he's not sure what he'll be doing in the film, but he knows he'll have a cameo "at least."

"They are so tight-lipped on that project, it’s ridiculous. I don’t even know my involvement into it. They talked to me about being involved, and the fans would love to see me involved," Frank dished.

The new "Power Rangers" film will serve as a reboot to the franchise where the Rangers will be in current times, with a new group of teenagers coming together to protect the world from evil alien invaders. The teenagers turn into heroes and form giant robots called zords to fight these invaders. While in their zords, the team can come together to form the until robot known as the Megazord.

"Power Rangers" is expected to be released in theaters Jan. 13, 2017.
