Elan Corp, Plc. (NYSE:ELN) stock climbed 10.19 percent to $11.68 in pre-market trading. RP Management LLC Monday announced that it had made an indicative proposal to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Elan for $11 per share.

3D Systems Corp. (NYSE:DDD) stock surged 7.96 percent to $40.99 in pre-market trading. The company stock was adjusted for a three-for-two split Friday and closed at $37.97. The stock has a 52-week low of $13.93, a 52-week high of $47.99 and $2.96 billion in market capitalization.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) stock surged 3.55 percent to $13.99 in pre-market trading. Leonard Riggio, Barnes & Noble’s founder and chairman, has expressed interest in buying out the retailer's consumer-bookstore chain, raising the prospect that the company could be split into two, the Wall Street Journal has reported citing people familiar with the situation.

Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) stock advanced 2.14 percent to $88.68 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $65.37, a 52-week high of $90.81 and $65.64 billion in market capitalization.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE:CHK) stock advanced 1.95 percent to $20.90 in pre-market trading. The company reported better than expected fourth quarter earnings last week. Adjusted net profit was $153 million or $0.26 per share, down from $394 million or $0.58 per share in the same period last year but topped Reuters’ estimate of $0.14 per share.

Groupon Inc. (NASDAQ:GRPN) stock rose 1.40 percent to $5.80 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.60, a 52-week high of $20.50 and $3.75 billion in market capitalization.

Affymax, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFFY) stock tumbled 72.82 percent to $4.49 in pre-market trading. Affymax and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co announced Saturday that they had decided to voluntarily recall all lots of OMONTYS (peginesatide) Injection to the user level as a result of new postmarketing reports regarding serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening or fatal.
