Those eagerly anticipating the newest TV comic book adaptation from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, “Preacher,” don’t have to wait much longer to get a look at the AMC drama. Rogen announced that the first trailer for the series will debut as a commercial during Sunday's special 90-minute episode of “The Walking Dead.”

Rogen, who will co-direct, produce and help write the series, made the announcement on Twitter, where he showed a small teaser of what fans can expect from the full-length preview on Sunday. The 12-second clip (below) doesn’t reveal too much of the complicated plot. It does, however, give fans of the DC Comics source material their first look at actor Dominic Cooper as the main character, Jesse Custer.

According to Deadline, “Preacher” is a comic series that tells the story of a small-town preacher in Texas who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven. Custer develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. He and a team of outrageous and mystical characters embark on a literal journey to find God. IGN notes that the “Preacher” team has cast Tulip (Ruth Negga), the vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), Emily (Lucy Griffiths) and a favorite of fans of the comic book, Arseface (Ian Colletti).

It seems AMC is doubling down on promoting its own shows during commercial breaks of what promises to be a highly rated episode of “The Walking Dead,” especially after last week’s cliff-hanger. As previously reported, the network will air the fourth installment of its “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” Web series during an ad break. In addition, AMC will air the TV premiere of the trailer to its upcoming original series “Into the Badlands.” The first look at the show, about a world where guns have been abolished, premiered at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con and can be viewed below.
