  • Kepa struggling fitting in with Lampard's system
  • Chelsea would be foolish to let Kepa walk
  • Lampard not ruling out Kepa return as starting goalie

With Chelsea FC opting to keep Kepa Arrizabalaga in the doghouse, transfer rumors are going spreading like crazy. Frank Lampard has opted to go with another goalie but some feel that the Spanish goalkeeper is just in a slump.

The latest person who spoke on Kepa and Lampard is former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich. He understands the decision made by the 41-year-old manager, admitting that it would be the same thing he or other managers would do to keep their team competitive, Goal.com reported. Not all would agree with his decision but Lampard just wants to go with players who are performing well.

With Kepa kept in cold storage, transfer rumors have run wild. Some feel that the 25-year-old goalkeeper may be on the way out although Lampard refutes the allegations. He hints that he is simply doing what he feels is best for Chelsea and that the dropping of Kepa should not be taken in a different light.

For Bosnich, the move is understandable. But the problem of dropping Kepa is that the Spaniard is a big name. The Blues spend huge money to get him from Atletico Madrid and critics feel that his talent is going to waste. The 48-year-old former goalkeeper believes that things may not be as serious as most think. That is unless there is a grudge between Lampard and Kepa - something that has not been mentioned thus far.

"It is completely understandable as a manager if someone is not doing it for you at a big club you think somewhere else. There are stories around Donnarumma or Onana but with any goalkeeper you talk about purchasing, especially from abroad, there's nothing like playing the position in England," Bosnich said.

In a previous post, Lampard already addresses transfer rumors linked to Kepa. He made it clear that Kepa could still crack the starting lineup but needs to own up to his mistakes. Lampard even lauded the attitude of Kepa, revealing how the 25-year-old is working hard to prove he deserves his starting job back.

Only time will tell if Lampard does give Kepa another shot at being the starting goalie. Bosnich believes the Spaniard is just struggling and could get his act together at some point. If he fails to do so, expect Lampard to stick with his selection and likely take in more heat from critics.
