‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7: Drew Van Acker Reprises Role For ‘Awkward Family Reunion’

Loyal viewers of the TV series “Pretty Little Liars” will see a familiar face when the show returns to the small screens.

Drew Van Acker is set to reprise his role as Jason DiLaurentis in the upcoming “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, Entertainment Weekly reported. The latest casting news for the Freeform TV series may not be a surprise for avid viewers. Showrunner Marlene King has already hinted at the actor’s potential return to the series in previous interviews. However, Van Acker’s inclusion to the show was only recently confirmed by Freeform.

Fans will see Van Acker’s Jason in the upcoming “Pretty Little Liars” season 7, episode 7. Details for his role have yet to be disclosed. Although, showrunner King has previously revealed that the character Jason will have a “very awkward family dinner with his aunt and his sister,” as indicated in the same report.

Other celebrities who will reprise their roles in the upcoming new season include Tammin Sursok and Brant Daugherty. Sursok will again portray the character Jenna while Daugherty will play Noel. Some new characters have also been added to the series’ season 7 such as Nicholas Gonzales, who will portray a new detective in Rosewood. As for Van Acker, it is still unclear if the actor will appear in other episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” season 7.

Meanwhile, the character Jenna’s return to the series has been described as an “eventful visit,” as stated in a report posted on TVLine. Sursok’s character has been known to bring trouble to beloved characters of the show. Apart from Jenna, Noah and Jason’s return to Rosewood, avid fans of the show can also look forward to another exciting “Pretty Little Liars” season, given the events teased in the previously released season 7 trailer.

The upcoming season will see the Liars performing a “twisted task” to save Hanna (Ashley Benson) who was kidnapped by Elliot (Huw Collins) and Mary Drake (Andrea Parker), as stated in the same report. The new season may also feature a wedding and other suspenseful events.

“Pretty Little Liars” Season 7 will premiere June 21.
