Pretty Little Liars
Emily (Shay Mitchell, pictured) will put a plan in place to save Alison (Sasha Pieterse, not pictured) in “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 3. Freeform

The Rosewood gang may have handed Alison over to A.D. — but that doesn’t mean they’re in the clear. Deadly drama is brewing in episode 3 of “Pretty Little Liars.”

The synopsis for episode 3, titled “The Talented Mr. Rollins,” teases that the girls will focus all their energy on protecting Alison (Sasha Pieterse). They were so worried about saving Hanna (Ashley Benson) in the premiere, that they didn’t realize the danger they put their other friend in. But getting Alison out of the mental hospital won’t be easy. Her twisted husband, Dr. Elliot Rollins (Huw Collins), put a ban on visitors.

The Liars will have to “snap into action” when a chance to rescue her presents itself. However, that doesn’t mean their plan is a good one. The episode description teases that they will make a “deadly mistake that changes everything.” Could this possibly be referring to the scene in the premiere where Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Aria (Lucy Hale) are digging a hole in the woods?

For those that don’t remember, episode 2 of the Freeform series saw some big changes for the girls. Aria broke things off with Liam (Roberto Aguire) in a move that seemed to cement things with Ezra (Ian Harding). Two other relationships also crumbled. Hanna returned her engagement ring to Jordan (David Coussins) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) basically told Spencer that he no longer had feelings for her. But despite these shakeups, the biggest jaw dropper actually came from Mary Drake (Andrea Parker).

Mary confessed her backstory to Emily, telling her that she was sent to Radley as a teenager for a crime she did not commit. She seemed to have resentment for her late twin sister, Jessica (Andrea Parker), but that resentment didn’t necessarily transfer over to Alison. In a face off with Elliot it was revealed that Mary partnered with him to get her hands on DiLaurentis money. She didn’t exactly agree with the way that Elliot was treating her niece.

“Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 3 will air on Freeform Tuesday, July 5 at 8 p.m. EDT.
