People.com reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton are scheduled to move into an apartment inside Kensington Palace. This new apartment will provide the newlyweds with a London base.

So far, when in London, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been staying at Prince Williams's bachelor apartment at Clarence House, where Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, also reside.

For the time being, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are based near Prince William's airbase in north Wales.

The couple's house on Anglesey, Wales will still be their home base as the London apartment is a temporary space since it's fairly small.

A number of options for longer term solutions are still being considered. The couple's main home will continue to be their house on Anglesey, and their [administrative] Household Office will continue to be based at St. James's Palace, a spokesman for the couple said.

The London apartment, with only two bedrooms, is deemed too small for them as they start a family and accomplish what they'll be expected to do in terms of meetings a royal source told People.com.

The couple is expected to move into the London apartment in late June or early July.

This is around the same time Prince William and Kate are scheduled to tour Canada and California.

The couple is expected to spend June 30 through July 8 in touring Canada to experience, the diversity, vibrancy, of Canada, its geography and people, a source at St. James's Palace, said.

The schedule for the Canadian portion of their tour is as follows:

June 30-July 2: The National Capital Region (Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec)
July 2: Montreal
July 3: Quebec City
July 3-4: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
July 4: Summerside, Prince Edward Island
July 4-6: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
July 6-8: Calgary, Alberta

On July 8, the couple will fly to Los Angeles.

The couple view this as a working visit, not as an opportunity for them to meet celebrities, a palace source told People.com.
An exact itinerary for the California leg of their trip has yet to be revealed.

It was reported that the Duchess of Cambridge will need approximately 40 outfit changes during the trip. A palace aide said that the couple wants to keep their entourage to a minimum.

This is the first time Kate Middleton will be visiting Canada and the United States.
