Is a sequel to Japanese video game publisher Bandai Namco’s crossover tactical role-playing game “Project X Zone” in the works? According to a Bandai Namco event in Italy, yes.

On Thursday, user Takao posted a transcription of the announcement on NeoGAF, which claimed that the game would eventually reach Nintendo’s portable New 3DS. You can view the announcement (in Italian) below via Facebook, which refers to the game as "Project X Zone: Brave New World."

Japanese video game web site Famitsu is also currently holding a countdown to a reveal.

The original “Project X Zone” launched for the Nintendo 3DS in North America in June of 2013. The role-playing game was developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft and published by Namco Bandai.

The game features a number of characters from different video game franchises, including Chris Redfield from the “Resident Evil” series, Ryu and Ken from the “Street Fighter” franchise, Jin Kazama and Ling Xiaoyu from “Tekken,” X and Zero from “Mega Man X” and more. There are a total of 20 pair units that engaged in a cross-active battle system.

During the game’s release in Japan, it sold more than 85,539 units within a week. In the United States, “Project X Zone” was among the best-selling games sold for Nintendo’s 3DS.
