Jet packs are not just a cool sci-fi premise, they are a reality thanks to Yves Rossey. Not quite like what "Rocketman" had in mind, Rossey created a winged propulsion system that he straps to his back and can reach an average speed of 200 kilometers per hour (about 124 mph). The "Jetman" and his protege Vince Reffet took to the skies over Dubai and created a spectacular video fo the city's amazing architecture and landscape.

Rossy has spent more than a decade perfecting his jet pack. The pilot uses four model jet turbines and carbon-fiber wings attached to a backpack. Rossy has flown over Rio de Janeiro, Mount Fuji and even in formation with a passenger jet. "I want to make possible what humans have only been dreaming of and I believe that Dubai provides the right environment and infrastructure for me to achieve this," Rossey said of his most recent adventure. Reffet is a world-renowned BASE jumper and has plunged over 2,000 feet off the world's tallest building -- the Burj Khalifa in Dubai -- and 33,000 off of Mont Blanc.

The video features a conversation between the two daredevils and what drives them to take on these challenges. The duo jump out of a helicopter over Dubai's Palm Islands and soar around the city's famous skyscrapers.
