Queens Mother Snatches Child From Hospital, Charged With Kidnapping
A Queens mother is being charged with kidnapping after snatching her baby daughter from a hospital, according to NY1. Leila Rajnarie, 40, will be arraigned for kidnapping, custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rajnarie allegedly stole her 8-month-old daughter Nevita, of whom she does not actually have custody. Rajnarie was accompanying the foster mother for a routine checkup when she snatched the child from Queens Hospital Center Wednesday, without the permission of hospital officials.
Police later found Rajnarie and her daughter in a livery cab, where the baby was unharmed.
