California state University student, Quran Jones, allegedly beat fellow student, Scott Gregory Hawkins, to death with a baseball bat on Wednesday afternoon.

Jones in now in hospital under police watch after he was shot by police responding to the crime in the new American River Courtyard dormitory.

The motive for the attack is not yet clear.
