The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 9 reunion is going to be an emotional rollercoaster. Sherée Whitfield will find herself in the spotlight during Part 2 of the Bravo show, opening up about her and ex-husband Bob Whitfield’s dark past.

A preview for the episode shows Sherée breaking down while host Andy Cohen questions whether she was abused and, if so, why Bob made light of it during Season 9 of “RHOA.” Sherée admits that it’s not something she thought she’d discuss on the show for her children and family’s sake. Still, she manages to tearfully open up.

While she was reluctant to discuss the abuse, which she claimed was both physical and verbal, Sherée later said it was therapeutic. During an appearance on The Daily Dish podcast, she explained that she “needed to talk about it.” After going public about it, she felt she was able to let go.

“It was therapeutic,” she said. “I never would have talked about [the abuse]. It was something he kind of alluded to. No one’s ever heard me talk about this. I’ve been on the show in and out nine seasons, and this is something I never would have talked about, because I have kids, and at the end of the day I had a family, and that’s not something I wanted them to know.”

Sherée’s bombshell revelation won’t be the only dramatic moment during the “RHOA” Season 9 reunion. Viewers can also expect to see Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams face off. The drama stems from claims the Grammy Award winner and husband Todd Tucker tried to drug and rape their “RHOA” co-star.
