Cody Simpson is addressing rumors that his mom, Angie Simpson, was considering joining “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast. Previous reports suggested she was negotiating a deal with Bravo, but had not yet begun filming. Cody sat down with Extra TV’s Charissa Thompson to discuss these claims and more.

During their interview the “La Da Dee” crooner was asked if he’d brought his family along with him, at which time the conversation shifted to his mom. Cody told Extra he had heard the rumors about her joining “RHOBH,” but they were just that. He said if his mom had signed on to film a reality series, “she would have told me by now.” He told Thompson he didn’t think it would be something that would be happening unfortunately.

It was widely believed that Bravo had selected Angie due to her son’s history with current “RHOBH” star Yolanda Foster’s eldest daughter. Cody dated Gigi Hadid for two years before they split in May 2015. Multiple outlets suggested Angie would be filming opposite Yolanda throughout Season 6.

Now that Cody confirmed his mother won’t be appearing on “Real Housewives,” the question remains -- who will fill the two vacant spots on the show’s cast? Brandi Glanville, who appeared as both a full-time and part-time cast member on the show during her time with the franchise, announced her departure on June 24. Prior to that it was reported that Kim Richards had been axed after Bravo and their parent company, NBC Universal, decided she was too much of a liability.

Filming for Season 6 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is currently underway. Bravo has made no announcements about the show’s cast or when it would be returning to TV.
