“Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member Meghan King Edmonds has just revealed online that she is going to be a mother of two soon. The conception is once again made possible by IVF technology, even though the reality star admitted that she suffered depression when she conceived her first baby using the same procedure.

On Monday, Edmonds proudly took to her personal website to announce that her first daughter, Aspen, is becoming a big sister soon. In a blog post that was accompanied by adorable photos of her 1-year-old sporting a “Big Sister” outfit, the 31-year-old detailed how she and husband Jim planned and carried out IVF to give life to their second child.

“When Aspen was only a few months old Jimmy and I knew we wanted to add another baby to the mix,” Edmonds wrote. “Yes, Aspen has half-siblings but we wanted her to be able to share in the joy of waking up to a sibling every day of her life. Plus her half-siblings are completely enamored by Aspen and they LOVED the idea of expanding our family even more.”

Edmonds revealed that they started the IVF process over the summer and that they had to start everything from scratch because they really want to have a boy this time around. Even though the Major League Baseball player didn’t mind the gender of the baby, Edmonds was eager to restart the process for they only had two frozen female embryos.

The reality TV star maintained that she insisted to start everything from scratch, for she is now more comfortable with going through the assisted reproductive technology procedure having done it before. “I was more comfortable with going through IVF again since I knew what to expect. So we moved forward with IVF.”

The Bravo star also admitted that during her first round of IVF to conceive Aspen, she suffered “the worst depression of my life,” which she said was due to the erratic hormones and loneliness she felt at the time. Edmonds then credited her pet goldendoodle, named Girly Girl, for helping her amid her depression battle. “Dogs are truly woman’s bet friend and medicine for the soul… and apparently clinical depression!”

“I felt like I handled this IVF much more in stride. I’m not sure if it’s because I knew what to expect or if maybe my body was used to the hormones, but it was easier,” Edmonds noted. “I was also armed with the emotional mindset to be so much healthier this time around whereas last time I was surrounded by the stress of filming RHOC (which is VERY stressful and emotionally taxing).”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Edmonds admitted that she’s “obsessed with motherhood.” “It’s all consuming. It’s all you do. That’s all you care about. Everything else is just peripheral,” she said before confession that she really wants to have four or five kids.

Meghan and Jim tied the knot in 2014. The professional baseball player was previously married to Allison Jayne Raski from 2008 through 2014. Jim already has four kids before he married Meghan: Hayley, Landon, Lauren and Sutton.
