German-based automotive industry Porsche is planning to discontinue their Panamera manual transmission cars due to fall in sales in the US.

A spokesperson from the company, in an interview, attributed the move to unexpectedly low sales figures of the current generation manual transmission Panamera in the US. The company may stop the sale of the cars and renovate the next generation Panamera’s with PDK transmission (twin-clutch transmission or double clutch transmission).

The car will also have an electronic power steering that will improve its economy by nearly two percent.

The new generation Porsche Panamera is set to compete against BMW’s yet to be launched 550 bhp M5 sport sedan which will come with a manual transmission option.

The German car maker is yet to release any official statement, the Rushlane website reported.
