There’s good news for the wrestling world regarding arguably the greatest performer of all time. Ric Flair is on the road to recovery following a medical scare that put his life in danger.

The latest updates come from Flair’s fiancee, Wendy Barlow, and the WWE Hall of Famer’s Twitter account. Barlow wrote a post on Facebook, explaining that Flair is working his way back towards good health.

“I wanted to update everyone on Ric’s progress as so many people have been reaching out and offering their prayers and support,” Barlow wrote. “He is doing very well for a man who has been through so much! He will begin physical therapy shortly and will be stronger than ever and back out enjoying all the fans sooner than you would think. I can honestly say I have witnessed a miracle.”

It was a little more than two weeks ago that the 68-year-old Flair was hospitalized in Atlanta for unknown health reasons. Current and former wrestling superstars began to offer their thoughts and prayers for the Nature Boy, who has been a part of the business for five decades.

“I saw @RicFlairNatrBoy before I flew to Boston yesterday I can assure that he needs everyone's prayers and positive vibes. Thx in advance!!” former wrestler and current WWE producer Michael PS Hayes tweeted on Aug. 15.

Flair was reportedly placed into a medically induced coma a few days after being taken to the hospital for what his fiancee described as “multiple organ problems.” He remained in critical condition following surgery.

Barlow refuted initial reports that Flair had colon surgery. Sports Illustrated reported that a part of Flair’s bowel was required to be removed after medical professionals found what was thought to be an intestinal blockage.

According to Sports Illustrated, alcohol use contributed to his health issues. The legendary wrestler, who was known throughout his career for living the gimmick and being an extension of his wrestling persona, spoke to the publication just a few days before he went to the hospital with severe abdominal pain.

“I had one vice,” Flair told SI. “I’m not going to point my finger at anybody else. My vice was drinking. I didn’t have any pain issues, addiction problems, marijuana, cocaine, nothing like that. It’s a fact that I kept myself up all night and always had a good time.”

Charlotte Flair, Ric’s daughter and current WWE superstar, hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since her father was hospitalized. She posted on social media after Ric’s surgery, thanking everyone for their prayers, and she returned to the wrestling ring this past weekend for WWE live events.

It’s been a few years since Ric wrestled his last match, but he’s remained involved with WWE. He was part of the storyline when Charlotte joined WWE’s main roster and became the women’s champion. The 16-time world champion last appeared on WWE TV in November when Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte for the Raw Women’s Championship on an episode of “Monday Night Raw.”

Don’t be surprised if Charlotte gets the loudest ovation on “SmackDown Live” when she makes her return Tuesday night.
