“Riverdale” Season 2 star Vanessa Morgan recently clarified Toni Topaz’s connection to Jughead (Cole Sprouse).

Even though Toni has yet to meet Jughead in the hit The CW series, Morgan has already received some death threats from Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead’s supporters. As such, the actress clarified that there is no gurantee that Toni and Jughead will be linked together romantically.

While speaking with Glamour, Morgan said, “I’ve already had some death threats. But the thing is, it’s half death threats because they don’t want that actually happening, and there’s half that’s just all love. Who knows if my character coming between Bughead is even going to happen. People are just jumping to conclusions.”

According to the actress, Toni will become Jughead’s first friend when he moves to the south side of town. “She’s a Southside Serpent, a gang member, and Jughead’s first friend. So I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle,” she said.

But even if there will be some tension between their characters, Morgan said that they are all good friends on set. “Lili and Cole are awesome, and they have been nothing but welcoming to me. It’s great doing scenes with them. I feel lucky that everyone has been so nice. And Madelaine Petsch is my best friend in real life!” she said. Petsch plays the role of Cheryl Blossom in “Riverdale.”

Meanwhile, other than Toni’s connection to Jughead and Betty, Morgan is also excited over the fact that the character is bisexual. “It’s so huge because I have so many bisexual friends in real life… I’m happy to be representing that with this character. You can love both genders. It doesn’t matter a guy or girl, so I’m proud to represent that,” she said.

Morgan isn’t the only actor to join the cast of “Riverdale” Season 2. Graham Phillips has been cast to play the role of Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) ex-boyfriend, Nick St. Clair.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
