The MTV Video Music Awards aired live from Los Angeles on Thursday night. An evening full of beautiful celebrities and awesome music, a highly anticipated moment from the show didn't have anything to do with the music industry...it had to do with a couple vampires. Robert Pattinson and a few of his "Twilight" costars appeared on stage during the award show to give fans a taste of "Breaking Dawn Part 2" in a brand new trailer.

MTV award shows are no stranger to Pattinson and his "Twilight" mates. The "Holy Trinity Of 'Twilight,'" Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, usually share the honors of presenting a sneak peak for MTV fans, but this year was a little different.

In light of the recent scandal involving Kristen Stewart's affair with married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, the actress who plays Bella in the "Twilight" series took a different scheduling route to avoid the drama at the MTV VMA's. Instead, Stewart flew to Toronto for a special screening of her new film "On The Road" at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Pattinson presented the new "Breaking Dawn Part 2" trailer with a couple costars.

Joining Pattinson on stage was recently single Peter Facinelli, new dad Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser and producer Wyck Godfrey.

The group thanked fans for their loyalty to the series before giving Twi-hards a chance to go into screaming fits over the new clips from "Breaking Dawn Part 2."

"I've had a bad habit of underestimating you," an in awe Edward tells his new wife Bella. "Every obstacle you've faced i think you couldn't overcome... and you just did."

Fans see Bella zipping through the woods in the blue dress that the Cullen's placed her in after "she died." With the red eyes we've come to know and love, Bella jumps off a water fall, chases a deer and goes all Emmet on us by pouncing on a mountain lion (and we're assuming diggin' in as well).

"I didn't expect you to seem so...you," the ever hysterical Jacob tells a freshly fed Bella.

Bella in her new form seems to feel the same.

"My time as a human was over," she voices as viewers watch her plunge off a cliff. "But I never felt more alive."

Fans know that the final installment in the "Twilight" series isn't about all the good times that Bella and her new family will have for eternity though.

I thought we would be safe forever," Bella says, watching little Renesmee grow. "But forever isn't as long as I had hoped."

The trailer shows Irina of the Denali Coven, who already had problems with Bella on her wedding day to Edward, going to the Volturi to tell them that "The Cullen's have done something terrible." The "terrible" thing Irina informs them of is Renesmee, who she believes is an immortal child (a human child who has been turned into a vampire).

From that point on the trailer gets juicy. Alice warns that the Volturi is coming for them, Edward seeks help for his family from other vampires, Jacob round up the pack to fight, and some crazed vampire can be seen chasing Renesmee through the woods.

The end of the new "Breaking Dawn Part 2" trailer gives fans a final glimpse of what to expect...a massive fight between the Cullen family and the Volturi (and some awesome karate moves from Bella).
