Laila Ali slammed MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, and weighed in on why she thinks the 28-year-old lost the fight to Holly Holm on Saturday. The 37-year-old daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali said she thinks Rousey is a bit overrated and needs to work on a few things if she truly wants to be a champion.

When a TMZ photographer asked Ali if she was surprised by the outcome of the Nov. 14 fight, she said she wasn't.

"I'm familiar with Holly Holm," Ali said. "She’s a talented boxer; world champion; she’s got MMA background and obviously was no chump. So I’m excited for her and hopefully she’ll get the exposure she needs to take her career to the next level.”

The retired boxer went on to say that it's obvious that Holm was a better boxer than Rousey, and offered Rousey a few tips on what she should do next.

“I think she can watch the tape and see what she needs to work on," Ali told the photographer. "In order to be the best in the world, you don’t definitely get beat up like that in your prime, period.”

Ali also said she doesn't think a rematch between Rousey and Holm is a good idea because it will "go the same way the second time, probably worse.”

As previously reported, Rousey was undefeated until her fight with Holm over the weekend in Melbourne, Australia. She lost in the second round when Holm kicked her in the head and then pummeled her with punches as she lay on the mat. Rousey was temporary knocked out from the blow, and spent the night in an Australian hospital where she received stitches to close a "very big gash" on her bottom lip.

Sunday night Rousey reached out to her fans telling them that she was OK.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support. I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine," she posted on Instagram. "As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back.”

UFC President Dana White said that Rousey was "bummed" and "depressed" about the loss, but said she would get a second chance at fighting Holm in a yet-to-be-scheduled rematch.

Ali wasn't the only person to slam Rousey about the fight. MMA fighter and Rousey’s longtime rival Miesha Tate told MMA News Source on Sunday that she was “stoked” Rousey lost to Holm.

“Honestly, f--- Ronda Rousey,” she said. “Nobody has the right to beat you, well you just got beat b---. I’m proud of Holly… I think I’m next in line.”

Lady Gaga also took a jab at the now-defeated fighter sharing an Instagram photo of Holm punching Rousey and writing in the caption, “That’s what you get for not touching gloves!” Rapper 50 Cent, who's close friends with boxer Floyd Mayweather, posted several memes on Instagram mocking Rousey getting knocked out.
