“Orange is the New Black” star Ruby Rose penned a cheeky Facebook post titled “Fry-day the 13th” after she got into an altercation at a New Orleans bar Friday. The restaurant, Rebellion Bar & Urban Kitchen, responded with a Facebook post of its own a day later.

“Thanks to our customers and friends for support during this regrettable incident with Ruby Rose,” the restaurant’s owner, Seung Hong, wrote Sunday. “We have no interest in a tit for tat or in responding to every single misconception, distortion, untruth or speculation.”

He issued the following statement:

I don't want to get into some pointless flame war, but I do want to clear up a couple of things. 1, we do not mock anyone for sobriety. That is just a flat-out lie. If anyone on our staff actually spoke that way to a guest, they would absolutely be fired. 2, like most bar/restaurants in New Orleans, we are supporters of the LGBT community. Good luck with being a homophobic service industry business in New Orleans. And the bartender that Ruby threw her food at is a member of the LGBT community and is one of the most gracious, respectful guys you will ever meet. His patience, cool, and grace in that situation was admirable. He was only trying to accommodate Ruby. She responded by being a bully and seemed to find it amusing to throw food at someone. We have held numerous events and benefits for LGBT civil rights causes. My entire professional career before this business was in the civil rights movement. I can't know what is in someone else's head or their motivations, but this lie sounds like a terrible excuse for inexcusably bad behavior.

The statement only briefly addresed Rose's sobriety, which is what upset her the most. “When someone makes repeated derogatory jokes about the sobriety I worked so hard to achieve, it's hard not to react emotionally,” she wrote Saturday. “So I threw a singular fry at him. Then he came back as we were getting ready to leave and continued making awful comments, so I continued with the fries.” The post garnered more than 31,000 reactions from her 4.5 million followers.
