The rupee fell to its lowest in a year on Thursday as dollar climbed versus major currencies and against Asian peers.

At 9:09 a.m.(0339 GMT), the partially convertible rupee was at 46.225/230 to a dollar after hitting 46.2550 -- a level last seen on Sept. 16, 2010.

It had ended 0.1 percent weaker at 46.1670/1750 on Wednesday.
