The estranged spouse of "Real Housewives of Beverley Hills" star Taylor Armstrong, who was found dead this Monday, had apparently begged a friend for anxiety drugs days before his death, reported TMZ.

Russell Armstrong's longtime friend Russ McCullough told TMZ that three days before his death, Armstrong was seen asking for a full bottle of Xanax.

Taylor had filed for divorce from Russell last month. They married in 2005 and had one daughter, Kennedy.

Taylor's representative issued a statement over Russell's death saying: "Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter. Her thoughts and prayers are also with Russell's 11- and 13-year-old sons."

Amstrong's death was confirmed a suicide by hanging. No drugs or alcohol were found at the scene.
