Scientists have created the ultimate menu that they believe can be the world's healthiest meal not short of flavor.

According to British researchers at the Leatherhead Food Research organization, the healthiest meal includes salmon terrine, chicken casserole with lentils and mixed vegetables and a walnut-covered blancmange as the dessert.

The ultimate menu was concocted by the independent research organization based on 4,000 health claims made by food manufacturers. The study found 222 factual examples and created a healthy meal to maximize the nutrients in those truthful claims.

We have also shown that healthy foods do not have to be dull, Leatherhead chief executive, Paul Berryman, told the Daily Mail. We carry out thousands of consumer taste tests a year and one thing is clear. No matter how healthy, if foods do not taste good they will not sell.

The menu, according to research, includes a series of superfoods rich in Omega-3 fish oils to maintain a healthy cholesterol level, and brain-boosters known as folates. It was originally created as the perfect airline meal, according to the Daily Mail, but can be made at the home as well.

Salmon terrine contains the Omega 3 and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), making the meal heart-healthy when paired with a mixed leaf salad with extra virgin olive oil dressing for cholesterol. The main dish, chicken casserole with lentils and mixed vegetables, has protein to build muscle and pantothenic acid for increased energy. The dessert of a yogurt-based blancmange with walnuts and a sugar-free caramel sauce, while satisfying a sweet tooth, adds for good digestion and blood glucose control. The walnuts along contribute to blood vessel elasticity.

In addition to the salmon, chicken and blancmange meal, the scientists also recommended other foods that are healthy snack alternatives like, mixed berry shakes with glucomannan, hot chocolate infused with melatonin and charcoal tablets which reduce flatulence.

While the world's healthiest meal created by the Leatherhead Food Research organization is undoubtedly chock full of superfoods and nutrients beneficial to healthy living, Everyday Health nutritionist Maureen Namkoong said other meals could be just as nutritious.

We can get more creative than this, Namkoong said. Several different meals can achieve these kinds of goals.
