Speculations suggest that Samsung is preparing Galaxy Note 7 as a direct competitor for iPhone 7 Plus, which is rumored to arrive with rear-facing dual camera lens. Fresh rumors also indicate that it will be also arriving with a dual camera system. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date will be scheduled in early August, a month earlier than the iPhone 7 Plus release date in September.

According to a report published on Chinese Zhongguancun Online (ZOL), the Electro-Mechanics wing of Samsung is developing dual camera lens that will arrive on the Galaxy Note 7 (aka Galaxy Note 6). The dual camera system on iPhone 7 Plus is expected to offer lossless of optical zoom. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s dual camera system is also expected to deliver the same, but its functionalities are still under the wraps, Pocket-Lint reported.

Recent rumors have claimed that the South Korean company is of the view that the Note phablet is an outdated or a lower product than the Galaxy S flagship as the former is always one number behind. Hence, Samsung is expected to launch its upcoming Galaxy Note phablet as Galaxy Note 7 Edge instead of Galaxy Note 6.

Last year, the Galax Note 5 was launched in August, a month before the iPhone 6 models were introduced in September. Evan Blass (aka @evleaks), the well-known leakster has tweeted that the Galaxy Note 7 release date will be set in early August.

The leakster has claimed that only one version of Galaxy Note 7 will be launched in August. However, Samsung was recent spotted testing the purported Galaxy Note 7 Edge with dual-edge curved screen in India. Speculations indicate that the Galaxy Note 7 specifications include 5.8-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 823 or upgraded Exynos 8890 chipset (depending on market), 6 GB of RAM and 4,000 mAh battery.
