Samsung will reportedly release a “Galaxy S7 Edge Batman vs. Superman Edition” in March or April this year. Warner Bros.

Samsung is apparently gearing up to release the Batman vs. Superman edition of Galaxy S7 Edge, besides the regular variant of the device.

When Samsung introduced the current-generation Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones, superhero-themed variants in the form of "Avengers" characters were rumored. Thanks to the partnership deal between Marvel and Samsung, the stunning Iron Man edition was launched in May last year, Phone Arena noted. However, the stock was limited and this particular variant was confined to selected markets.

The Iron Man-themed device comes with fresh icons, colorful wallpapers and a shiny golden frame runs through the corners of the S6 Edge. This special edition was priced at approximately $2,499, when it debuted.

As the Galaxy S7 Edge release date nears, Samsung's Batman vs. Superman edition of the upcoming smartphone is creating a lot of buzz online. For the uninitiated, the Batman vs. Superman edition has reportedly been made at a whopping budget of over $200 million. The “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder, is one of the most anticipated movies of 2016. The star cast includes Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Korean blog Naver says the new edition will hit the stores sometime in March or April this year. It may also coincide with the release date of the standard S7 series, that is, March 11.

The movie, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” is expected to hit theaters on March 25. In any case, this variant will also be limited in quantities and may cost an arm and a leg.
