Samsung launched two variants of the Galaxy Tab S2 in July. Following the launch, the devices cleared the FCC. Now, key details pertaining to the new slates have been revealed.

The ultra-thin Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablet series comes in 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch versions. As far as the Galaxy Tab S2 price is concerned, the 8.0-inch version bundled with 32 GB of built-in storage space and Wi-Fi only connectivity comes for $399.99. The 9.7-inch display clad model, on the other hand, can be purchased for $499.99.

Speaking of LTE variants, Samsung is reportedly offering the slates via AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. When it comes to color choices, the tablets are available in black, white and golden color options. The stand-out aspect of these two tablets is the impressive thickness and weight, with both models flaunting 5.6 mm thickness. In addition, the 8.0-inch version weighs only 9.4 ounces, whereas the 9.7-inch model is 13.8 ounces heavy.

Other key Galaxy Tab S2 specifications include a Super AMOLED display, packed with 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the slates come powered by Samsung’s Exynos chip, in combination with an octa-core CPU and backed by 3 GB of RAM. On the software front, the tablets run on Android v5.0.2 Lollipop.

When it comes to camera specification, the devices sport an 8-megapixel primary unit and a 2.1-megapixel secondary snapper for selfies. Moreover, the Tab S2 slates come equipped with 32 GB or 64 GB of built-in storage capacity with microSD card support for further expansion. A massive 5,870 mAh battery unit has been housed in the bigger version, while the smaller slate features a 4,000 mAh unit.

Buyers can preorder the tablets through Samsung’s official Website. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S2 release date is reportedly set for Sept. 3.
