Sandra Bullock has made it to the top of Forbes’ latest list of highest-earning actresses with estimated earnings of $51 million over a span of 12 months.

The 50-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who was at seventh position in the previous Forbes list, made it big last year with her space-thriller film, “Gravity,” which also starred actor George Clooney and won seven Academy Awards. The film, directed by Alfonso Cuaron, earned about $716 million at the global box office.

Jennifer Lawrence ranked No. 2 for a second consecutive year with estimated earnings of $34 million.

“’The Hunger Games’ is the most successful young adult franchise since ‘Twilight’ and her (Lawrence) recent turn as Mystique in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ helped make the movie the highest-grossing of the franchise,” according to Forbes.com.

Jennifer Aniston, who was at fourth position in the previous Forbes list of earnings, climbed a rung to third position with $31 million.

The earnings of the 45-year-old "Friends" star are reportedly based on calculations of her films, "Horrible Bosses" and "We're the Millers," and her endorsements with brands like Aveeno and Vitamin Water.

“Aniston still earns money from endless reruns of "Friends" and she's an in-demand spokesperson,” according to Forbes.com.

The fourth position in the list was taken by Gwyneth Paltrow, with estimated earnings of $19 million that are mostly from her role in “Iron Man 3,” which also stars Robert Downey Jr., and from endorsements such as Max Factor and Hugo Boss.

Angelina Jolie, 39, dropped from first position to fifth, with a mere $18 million in earnings, to share the spot with “The Other Woman” star Cameron Diaz.

“Lucy” actress Scarlett Johansson came in seventh with $17 million, while five-time Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams shared her No. 8 position with Natalie Portman, both of whom took home $13 million.

“Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart fell from last year's third position to land at No. 10 with estimated earnings of $12 million.

According to Forbes, the 10 highest-earning actresses made a total of $226 million between June 2013 and June 2014, while the 10 highest-earning actors managed a combined total of $419 million in the same period.
