Lena Dunham’s part on “Scandal” this week was close to the furthest thing imaginable from her “Girls” role, Hannah Horvath. The 28-year-old actress guest-starred on the ABC political drama Thursday night as Susanne Thomas, a young woman with a kinky fetish -- and Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) was forced to “handle” her.

What did little Susanne do? Well, she wrote a very naughty tell-all about her sexcapades with Washington’s elite. Needless to say, Olivia and her Gladiators knew a couple of Susanne’s partners, and it was important that what happened in between the sheets, stayed in between the sheets -- especially because it involved some things that belonged in “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Episode 16 of “Scandal” featured the usual, meaning Olivia attempted to nip the situation in the bud before a whole new set of problems sparked. Unfortunately, however, Susanne’s case wasn’t that easy. She didn’t take well to Olivia’s threat and demanded $3 million to keep her book from coming out. Olivia gathered the men from Susanne’s tell-all -- including David Rosen (Joshua Malina) and Leo Bergen (Paul Adelstein) -- to tell them all about the fee. While most of them appeared willing to pony up the cash for silence, Rosen shut everyone down and refused to be extorted.

Fortunately, Olivia was able to get to the root of the problem. Susanne wasn’t looking for cash. She had been wronged by her ex-employer, who tried to take advantage of her after he found out about her kinky fetish. Susanne was fired and blacklisted by other potential employers when she refused to sleep with him. With Olivia’s help, Susanne was able to press charges against her old boss and line up interviews for a new position. The book was off the table -- but Susanne didn’t get her happy ending.

Rosen’s refusal to give into Susanne’s demands had consequences, even though she agreed to stop pursuing the book. Huck (Guillermo Diaz) feared that if Susanne talked, Rosen would be replaced as the attorney general and he wouldn’t be able to get immunity for his B613 crimes. To take care of that threat, Huck cut Susanne’s throat.

Dunham had some fun with the moment, tweeting live throughout the episode. She even took to Instagram to post a couple of behind-the-scenes photographs from her “death shoot.” Click here and here to see the pictures.

RIP, Susanne Thomas. You were fierce. Watch the video below:
