What could possibly happen next on “Scandal”? Things will continue to spiral out of control in episode 7 as the secrets keep piling up.

Episode 6 of Season 5 was a doozy. Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) had quite possibly the most awkward engagement in an attempt to prevent Olivia from having to speak to the impeachment judiciary committee. Meanwhile, it was revealed that someone behind Lazarus One took out a hit on Rowan (Joe Morton) -- and the middleman in the situation was none other than Jake’s (Scott Foley) newly resurfaced ex-wife, Elise (Mia Maestro)!

As if that wasn’t crazy enough, Olivia panicked at the thought of settling down with Fitz and immediately shot down the plan. Instead, Olivia made a deal with the devil and decided to use Rowan’s help. He offered to get the judiciary committee to drop the case -- in exchange for his freedom from jail. Olivia pitched the plan to Mellie (Bellamy Young), but the former First Lady wasn’t buying what Olivia was selling. Olivia was forced to accept Fitz’ proposal, but a last minute change of heart from Mellie resulted in Olivia running out before the no frills wedding ceremony.

The judiciary committee dropped the case, but now Olivia owes Mellie. And that’s not the worst of it. There is no telling what Rowan will do now that he’s free.

According to the synopsis for episode 7, titled “Even The Devil Deserves A Second Chance,” Fitz will be “focused on winning back the American people.” However, he’ll become distracted when he makes a “shocking discovery.”

Will Fitz find out that Olivia is working with Mellie? Will he learn who was responsible for releasing Rowan?

Elsewhere, Olivia Pope & Associates will be back at work with a new client. But Olivia’s got more on her plate than that. The synopsis reveals that she’ll be “preoccupied keeping her own secrets.” A bigger issue might be looming though. Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi), who was fired from Chief of Staff after Fitz struck a deal with Cyrus (Jeff Perry), will be back. She’s got her “sights on a new agenda” – and there is no telling who or what that mysterious agenda will destroy.

“Scandal” Season 5, episode 7 will air on ABC on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. EST. Watch the promo video for “Even The Devil Deserves A Second Chance” below:
