Hold onto your white hats, Gladiators! Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is the queen of “fixing” things – but she’s currently in one sticky situation she might not be able to spin. A sneak peek video from episode 4 of “Scandal” Season 5 reveals that Liv might have dug herself into a hole by revealing herself as the President’s mistress.

“Scandal” fans will remember that Liv and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) tried to come up with a game plan last week to save face. But unfortunately for the two love birds, Mellie (Bellamy Young) wasn’t willing to play nice. The result was Liv giving Abby (Darby Stanchfield) the go ahead to throw her name in the mud in order to protect Fitz.

Unfortunately for Abby, it sounds like taking advice from her former boss might come at a high price – her job as the White House Press Secretary. A sneak peek video from episode 4 shows features Liv telling Fitz to give Abby back her job!

“I told you, this is my choice to make. If you take that away from me … I do not need to be rescued,” Liv tells her beau. “I find it offensive.”

“So I sit on my hands while you act as a punching bag?” he asks.

“No,” she fires back at him. “You walk down the hall and give Abby her job back.

Fitz argues that they’re “crucifying” her and asks how long she can handle it. Liv doesn’t answer … because the paparazzi have found her inside her own home. A flash of light alerts Olivia to a violation of privacy – a photographer is in the building across from her apartment and taking pictures of her inside her home.

She rushes to close the shades, but it’s too late.

As previously reported, episode 4 will find Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) helping Olivia with damage control. The pair will “recruit a familiar face” who will hopefully be able to assist them in “fixing” Olivia’s mess. Who will it be? “Scandal” fans will have to tune into ABC at 9 p.m. ET Thursday to find out.
