Christopher Nolan is looking out for leading ladies for the third Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. He has narrowed down his list to Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley, reports Deadline.

Nolan is looking for an actress to play a love interest for Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne, and another to portray a villain to be paired with Tom Hardy. All the ladies being considered have that illusive star quality and have a good body of work behind them which is good news for the film. In the earlier Batmans, the casting of the lead actresses had gone a bit off. The previous Nolan films featured Rachel Dawes played by Katie Holmes in Batman Begins, and Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight.

Another rumor doing the rounds is that the character to be included in this movie is that of Talia Al Ghul, daughter of the character played by Liam Neeson in the first film. Talia has been an important part of the comics and may have a bigger role to play in the coming movie.

The Dark Knight Rises will be released in June 2012.
