The search for survivors of an eight-story factory building collapse in Bangladesh that left 1,127 dead has ended, officials said on Monday.

The Army's decision to conclude searching for survivors in the rubble of the Rana Plaza building comes just three days after a woman was found alive 17 days after the tragedy, the Associated Press reports. The woman was recovering in a hospital on Monday.

The loss of lives led to fresh calls for western clothiers that use Bangladesh garment factories to fund safety initiatives and prompted the government to close 18 factories in Dhaka for safety violations.
