Paul Lynch, minister for Aeging, has recongnized the New South Wales seniors during an awards ceremony held at Sydney today. Seniors have been given tribute and were recognized for dedicating themselves towards making things better.

Other awards were given to those who were winners in the annual NSW Seniors Week awards from the Illawarra and the south coast of New South Wales.

The names of the people who were awarded are Jean Barret of Bellambi for working with the cancer patient support group. John Bilboe of Cordeaux Heights for medical work in the Philippines and disability care. Pia Nyboer of Manyana for volunteer work with the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association. Gai Ta of Fairy Meadon for the coordination of the llawarra-based Indochinese Aged Group who got an health and well-being award.

These award winners has enriched their communities by dedicating their precious time, skills, enthusiasm and energy to so many important activities. They have given their time unselfishly to help improve the life of their local communities and many tens and thousands of people around the State. said Lynch.
