In a bizarre incident, a 31-year-old Chinese man was rushed to hospital after pushing a padlock so far down his penis that it got stuck in his bladder.

The incident happened on Nov 14 when the unidentified man was reportedly "playing" with his private parts for sexual pleasure and inserted the small lock into his urethra and then shoved it further down, media reports said.

The man's family took him to a clinic in Fuzhou city, capital city of Fujian province in eastern China, after finding out what had happened.

Doctors performed various examinations before deciding that the man had to be operated upon to get the padlock out of his bladder.

An X-ray photo shared on social media shows a complete padlock stuck inside his bladder.

"We will make an incision at his bladder and take the padlock out from his body," a neurosurgeon at the hospital told Pear Video, a Chinese video site, before the surgery.

The man remains in hospital and doctors said that his actions may have caused permanent physical damage as a hole was cut in the man’s bladder in order to remove the small lock.

The latest incident comes months after a 35-year-old Chinese man had 15 rusty needles removed from his penis. The man inserted the needles down his penis for sexual gratification.

The man sought out medical advice after suddenly feeling intense pain and seeing blood while urinating. The patient claimed he did not feel any pain as he put the needles in with the pinhead up, reports said.

Doctor Cao Zhiqiang, who took part in the operation to have the four-inch needles removed on June 20, said at the time: "Because of the patient’s hobby, he inserted 15 needles from the tip of his penis into his urethra over the course of a year. Had we waited longer, the needles might have moved further up into his bladder, which would have been very troublesome."
