Sharon Osbourne received an apology and a substantial undisclosed sum of money from The Sun newspaper over a 2007 story which said she was driving husband Ozzy to destruction.

Osbourne took the paper to Britain's High Court for libel damages, her lawyer John Kelly told the court the allegations were entirely without foundation and were obviously extremely distressing, hurtful and damaging.

Patrick Callaghan, solicitor for News Group Newspapers, owners of Sun, said the newspaper sincerely apologized, accepted that the claims were untrue and agreed to pay Osbourne's costs.
