On Wednesday morning, Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo was found dead at the scene of a single-car accident. He was 40 years old. Known as a founding member of the group D4L, Shawty Lo embarked on a solo career that included a successful run from 2007 to 2008. During that time, Shawty Lo released some of his biggest hits. Remember the rapper with six of his best songs.

1. “Dey Know (Remix)”

While the original version of “Dey Know” went to No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it was the Dirty South remix that took over airwaves in 2007. Teaming up with Ludacris, Jeezy, Plies and Lil Wayne, the song is most famous for being the first time Weezy used the the Autotune feature that would go on to be a mainstay in his career for the next few years.

2. “Foolish”

After releasing “Dey Know” in 2007, Shawty Lo continued to remain popular the following year when he released “Foolish.” The song was another hit for the Atlanta rapper and made it to No. 29 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

3. “Dunn Dunn”

While it wasn’t as successful as “Dey Know” and “Foolish,” “Dunn Dunn” was the song that kicked off Shawty Lo’s feud with fellow Atlanta rapper, T.I.

4. “Dey Know”

Shawty Lo’s debut single still remains his best known song thanks to its great instrumental by producer Balis Beats.

5. “Haters” by Tony Yayo featuring 50 Cent, Shawty Lo and Kidd Kidd

In 2011, Shawty Lo signed his D4L record label to 50 Cent’s G-Unit South Records. The two parties teamed up that same year for Tony Yayo’s song, “Haters.”

6. “Foolish (Remix)”

Just like he did with “Dey Know,” Shawty Lo enlisted the help of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Birdman and Jim Jones for his “Foolish” remix. The song went on to be included on the Best Buy edition of DJ Khaled’s album, “We Global.”
