FXX will be airing another "Simpsons" marathon for Halloween. Fox

The 12-day FXX marathon of every single episode of the “The Simpsons’ ended on Labor day, but FXX will be giving fans more opportunities to binge watch the popular Fox animated sitcom soon. FXX has the rights to do more one-day marathons of the series and Chuck Saftler, president of Program Strategy and COO of FXX, told International Business Times that the next planned venture is a full-day marathon of every “Treehouse of Horror” episode for Halloween.

“The Simpsons” airs a “Treehouse of Horror” special every year and the tradition has become one of the most anticipated episodes of television for fans. FXX will air every episode the Sunday before Halloween, Oct. 26, starting at 12 p.m. EDT, and continue through midnight. Saftler says the marathon “will be a great way to exhibit ‘The Simpsons’” and says the network has more themed marathons planned for 2015.

As for another full-series marathon on the scale of this past summer (Saftler calls it “Simpsons-stock”), the FXX exec says it may not be likely anytime soon.

“I’m not sure if we’ll do another one. I think that needs to be a very special and sacred event,” says the FXX exec. He continued that it wouldn’t surprise him if the network did another full marathon sometime down the road, but FXX does not currently have the rights to do so again.

Fans certainly won’t be unhappy to see another full series marathon. The event was a ratings juggernaut for FXX, earning the network its highest ratings ever. Al Jean, the longtime “Simpsons” executive producer and showrunner told International Business Times that the marathon was a “personally meaningful” and “emotional experience.” Hopefully, FXX can count on everyone to be equally excited for the “Simpsons” Halloween marathon.
