First time parents, American singer Jewel and her cowboy hubby Ty Murray gave birth to Kase Townes, a baby boy, on Monday evening.
Grammy-nominated singer Jewel and her professional rodeo-cowboy husband Ty Murray welcomed their first baby and son Kase Townes, yesterday evening in Texas.

Their bundle of joy weighed in at seven pounds and six ounces. In a statement made by Kase's proud mommy, Jewel had this to say:
Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world...We are overcome with happiness--it really is as great as everyone told us it would be--better even!

The 36 year old singer revealed that it was not easy to conceive and when she finally learned she was pregnant, she was filming her reality show, Platinum Hit (Bravo), and tried to keep it a secret:

I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! I was worried I'd start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, 'oh she's pregnant.'
During her pregnancy Jewel kept busy and possibly feeling inspired, by working on, The Merry Goes 'Round, a new kid-friendly album and is slated to be released in August. In March, the singer was in a collision with a fire truck, but luckily neither she nor her unborn child was harmed.

Jewel and Ty tied the knot on August 7th 2008 in the Bahamas.
