Privately held start-up SiTime Corporation announced on Tuesday the appointment of a former Microsoft Executive to its leading ranks.

SiTime - an integrated circuit company making components for silicon electronics chips - appointed Regina Rekhtman as Vice President of Operations. She has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, the company said.

Regina brings an incredible amount of valuable experience to our company, including positions at SiRF, Sirific, and Microsoft Xbox, said Kurt Petersen, SiTime CEO. We made an extensive search to find the perfect fit for this position and I am confident that Regina has all the skills and experience to help SiTime not only build on our recent successes, but also take us to the next level and into the future as we continue our growth.

Ms. Rekhtman holds Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Masters Degree in Quality Control of Electronic devices, the firm noted in a statement.

SiTime specializes in commercialization of silicon micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), specifially used in silicon resonators, oscillators, and timing products.
