Sleepy Hollow Season 2
What will happen when "Sleepy Hollow" returns to Fox with season 2? Fox/SleepHollo

There’s nothing tiresome about Fox’s new hit series, “Sleepy Hollow.” With more than 10 million viewers tuning in to the supernatural show’s premiere, the TV series created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Philip Iscove and Len Wiseman was dubbed the highest-rated fall drama to debut in nearly six years! Now that’s something to lose your head over! And apparently, we’re not the only ones impressed with the jaw-dropping numbers of “Sleepy Hollow.”

According to reports, the apocalyptic show, which stars the dashing Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, has been renewed for another season, and it's set to premiere within the year. And you know what that means, right? More drama, more death and a whole lot more of watching decapitated horseback riders try to take over the world!

So, what can "Sleepy Hollow" fans expect next season? Executive producer Orci dished some spoiler scoop to TV Guide.

"It is the beginning of expanding the reach of the storytelling. Also, not just for the mythology and evil coming to town, but Ichabod seeing the rest of the world is just a fascinating thing to do," he explained. "He's only seen [so little] of our modern society through the lens of a town that resembles his own town to a great degree, except more Starbucks. Opening it up is absolutely something we hope to do."

Originally, the writers of “Sleepy Hollow” wanted to keep the plot of the show focused in Westchester County of New York. But it looks like Ichabod might be traveling a bit in season 2. "He's been in this town the whole time and he's adapted very well, but I'd like to see his reaction the first time he gets on an airplane," Orci said. "We were joking that he thinks, 'Oh, are we driving all the way there in this thing?' And then the plane takes off. Imagine seeing the White House and all the stuff that he never got to see that are the fruit of his labor and his sacrifice. Things like that will blow his mind."

Speaking of surprises, some of the cast were pleasantly surprised when they learned that show was extended for another season. Katia Winter, who plays the secret witch and wife of the show’s lead, said she never would have guessed that “Sleepy Hollow” would be so successful after reading the pilot.

“I read the first episode and I thought, 'Oh God, this is either going to be really good or really s--t!” she quipped to Digital Spy. “It was so bonkers and so crazy. I thought, ‘I’m just going to see what happens,’ and after watching the pilot, I thought, ‘OK, anything is possible!’ Since then, they’ve taken it a lot further and it’s never disappointed me.”

We’re sure season 2 won’t disappoint fans, either. What do you think will happen when “Sleepy Hollow” returns to the small screen? Let us know your predictions in the comments section below!
