French fashion house, Dior has released a teaser for its new fragrance Dior Sauvage, which will be available across the globe on Sep. 2, 2015. “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp, who is the new face of Christian Dior Parfums, stars in the highly-anticipated video. This is the 52-year-old actor’s first campaign for Dior, as well as his first fragrance ad.

Set to rock and roll guitar music, the short film shows Los Angeles by night. In the 13-second teaser, Depp says in a brooding voice that he “needs to get out of here.” But he does not know which way. It does not show the actor. Dior ads in the past have always shown a dramatic escape in the end, People reported.

However, the still photo of the Hollywood actor from the shoot shows him in the middle of the desert. In his new stint he has ditched the braids and bandanna. He wears a dark button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to show off his tattoos, and wears several bracelets and chunky rings.

The picture also shows him wearing a black waistcoat over his shirt, matching the color of the fragrance bottle in black and navy hues. He sports his goatee and moustache, while fringes of hair fall over his forehead.

The film has been shot by French director and photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who wanted to “ break free from urban city chaos.” He is the man behind Madonna’s six music videos. Meanwhile, Depp was announced as the brand ambassador of the cologne back in June.

The brand took to its official Instagram and posted a series of six pictures, including the location of the shoot as well as the actor and the perfume.

As for the scent, Dior revealed that it was crafted by the house’s storied resident perfumer, Francois Demachy (the man behind Dior Homme and Miss Dior). It also boasts the distinction of being the label’s first men’s fragrance in 10 years.

The French fashion house has a history of picking insanely good-looking men to rep their cologne -- previous faces include Jude Law and Robert Pattinson, who campaigned for Dior Homme Sport, Dior Homme Intense and Dior Homme, respectively, according to People.
