Sofia Vergara recently encouraged all women to get mammograms.

On her Instagram account, the actress shared a GIF of herself in front of the machine. She captioned the photo by saying that women just have to do it.

This is not the first time that Vergara talked about the importance of taking care of one’s health and body. The 45-year-old actress spoke with Women’s Health in August and acknowledged how much her body has changed in recent years.

“I’m 45. Even if you want to, at this time in your life, you can’t be perfect. It’s not that you hate it, or that you’re upset about it, but it is our reality. We’re changing. I see it happening to me. I want to look my age, but I want to look great. I think if you are obsessed with this ‘I want to look younger’ thing, you’re going to go crazy,” she said.

During the same interview, Vergara shared what her husband, Joe Manganiello, told her when they first started dating. “One of the first things Joe told me when we started dating was, ‘I like how you’re always very well put together.’ He said, ‘I’ve had girlfriends that are all day long prancing the house in sweats and no makeup…’ I’m not saying that’s bad; it’s great. For good or worse, it’s the way I grew up: Accept yourself but also be better than yourself,” she said.

Meanwhile, Vergara previously battled against cancer in her thyroid. In 2000, when she was just 28 years old, she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and has been taking medications ever since.

“They removed my thyroid and since then I have to use medication. I got rid of the cancer and for me it was, ‘Oh shoot, now I have to live with this condition my whole life… I have to be on medication my whole life and I don’t have thyroid. So, of course, I had to make myself realize what was going on with my body and I have to say in the past 10 years, I never had a problem,” she told Hello in 2013.
